The day starts with a tour of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official residence of the Queen in Scotland. The palace was home to Mary Queen of Scots for six years and houses beautiful tapestries and paintings. Travel up the infamous Royal Mile through the Old Town and past The Scottish Parliament building to Edinburgh Castle which holds the Scottish Crown Jewels and the Stone of Destiny.
If you have a thirst for the whisky and how it is made then we can take a short pleasant drive through the countryside to Glenkinchie Distillery, the home of 'The Edinburgh Malt', located in the rolling farmland of East Lothian and which houses an exhibition in the listed red brick buildings.If you are fascinated by the 'Da Vinci Code' or would like to visit the 15th century Rosslyn Chapel where it was filmed, the stone carvings are stunning masterpieces of the stonemasons craft and make the church very unique.
