The day starts with a tour of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official residence of the Queen in Scotland. The palace was home to Mary Queen of Scots for six years and houses beautiful tapestries and paintings. Travel up the infamous Royal Mile through the Old Town and past The Scottish Parliament building to Edinburgh Castle which holds the Scottish Crown Jewels and the Stone of Destiny.

If you have a thirst for the whisky and how it is made then we can take a short pleasant drive through the countryside to Glenkinchie Distillery, the home of 'The Edinburgh Malt', located in the rolling farmland of East Lothian and which houses an exhibition in the listed red brick buildings.If you are fascinated by the 'Da Vinci Code' or would like to visit the 15th century Rosslyn Chapel where it was filmed, the stone carvings are stunning masterpieces of the stonemasons craft and make the church very unique.

The Braveheart Tour
A one day tour inspired by William Wallace. Travel to Stirling, the Gateway to the Highlands and make a brief stop at Linlithgow Palace, the majestic Linlithgow Palace served as the Royal nursery for Mary Queen of Scots.( born 1542 )Then onto Stirling Castle which overlooks the River Forth where William Wallace defeated the army of Edward I.Soak up the history and stunning views from the Wallace Monument, a 220 foot high tower perched high on the Abbey Craig around where Wallace camped before his heroic battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297, built in 1869 to commemorate William "Braveheart" Wallace.

Then onto the splendour of Loch Katrine where you will see the elegant Steam Ship Sir Walter Scott.You can cruise down the Loch and past the land that inspired the historical novel Rob Roy.

You may wish to visit the Glengoyne Whisky Distillery in Dumgoyne, where you will be offered a dram of Glengoyne 10 year old Single Highland Malt whisky, view a short video presentation and taken on an informative guided distillery tour.

The Loch Ness Tour 
Leaving Edinburgh, you'll pass Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, to reach the most scenically beautiful of all Highland glens, Glencoe. This area is steeped in history, and you will hear about the infamous 1692 massacre of Clan MacDonald.

As an option you can lunch at Kinlochleven Seafood Cafe on the shores of Loch Leven, then travel north through Fort William, site of the military post built during the Jacobite Rebellions in the 18th century. You will continue up the Great Glen, between Fort William and Inverness to Fort Augustus on the southern tip of the Loch, stopping briefly to marvel at Thomas Telfords feat of engineering. The flight of 5 locks transport sailing vessels and boats from Loch Ness at the north end into the Caledonian Canal. Continue up the west side of the Loch Ness stopping at Urquhart Castle, the site of many battles led by the Clan MacDonald, which stands on a rocky promontory on the north shore with stunning views of the glen and a chance to spot the famous Loch Ness Monster.

Back on the road, continue around the northern tip of Loch Ness through Inverness and return south over the Drummochter Summit and on towards the Victorian town of Pitlochry stopping to visit the House of Bruar, nestling at the side of the famous Bruar Falls, for a variety of shopping opportunities and an extensive range of Scottish foods for the gourmet in Scotland's most prestigious country store. This is the final stop for the day before returning to Edinburgh.
